In a sheltered mountain bowl surrounded by breathtaking peaks, Arosa is a long-established ski resort with chocolate box scenery and a fantastic ski area. There are 43 lifts available to explore the extensive ski area, 225km of pistes on three valley sides leaves nothing to be desired with challenging black slopes, varied red slopes and relaxed blue slopes.
All skiers and snowboarders can find a descent that's right for them. Arosa has plenty of wide, forgiving slopes and lovely long cruisey blues for those that like to take things easy. For the more advanced, there is a good number of red and challenging black runs, plus a couple of snow parks to keep the pulse rate up ! More than half the pistes are covered with snow making facilities which combined with natural snowfall makes skiing throughout the season virtually guaranteed.
OK - terrible name, I agree ! But, a good, clean, warm and well run stylish hotel in the centre of town, rated very good by Tripadvisor. Rooms sleeping from 1 to 4 persons are all en-suite, most have balconies with lovely views over the surrounding mountains.
You are collected each morning by your own private ski bus to take you on the 5 minute journey to the slopes, the regular public service operates every few minutes 50 m from the hotel.
At the end of the day the sauna and hotel bar will help you relax and after your evening meal should you be interested in a little apres-ski (and perhaps the odd libation) restaurants, bars, clubs and even a casino are all on your doorstep, or as an alternative evenings can include horse-drawn sleigh rides, night skiing and night tobogganing.
